College of Life Sciences and Agriculture

The College of Life Sciences and Agriculture has overwhelmingly adopted a new strategic plan and framed COLSA’s reorganization. The faculty and I have been working as a team to launch the implementation of these two plans.

Here are the results: beginning on July 1, 2008, COLSA will have four departments. These will include the Thompson School of Applied Science; the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment; the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Biomedical Sciences; and Department of Biological Sciences.

These four departments are larger and comprehensive; they will encourage greater interaction of faculty as we extend our academic reach and develop educational and research programs for COLSA students. We are very proud of the hard work that has resulted in this reorganization of our college and look forward to sending you future news of our progress and successes.

In our college our talented students learn by doing. While we have had many changes at the college, what has not changed is the fact that quality educational programs need your support. In order to succeed, all our students need to be exposed to new materials, new equipment, new ideas, and a global industry.

Your contribution will help provide the scholarships and equipment necessary to provide a 21st Century education for our students. Thank you for your interest and support.

All best regards,
Thomas E. Brady
