The University of New Hampshire has been fortunate to have alumni and friends who are eager to express their generosity by supporting its future with charitable gifts.

The following alphabetical list illustrates how private contributions make a difference. This compilation of more than 700 named and endowed funds established at UNH from the late 1800’s to the present reflects a history of philanthropy at the state’s flagship public university.

Aarow Graydon Pest Control Scholarship

Established with gifts from Aarow Graydon Pest Control, the Aarow Graydon Pest Control Scholarship provides a scholarship to one full-time undergraduate student majoring in entomology who demonstrates a career interest in pest control.

Furio Abbiatti Memorial Scholarship

Following its twenty-fifth reunion, the Class of 1927 established the Furio Abbiatti Memorial Scholarship fund in memory of Furio A. Abbiatti '27, a former vice president of the Monsanto Company, who was characterized as an "outstanding class member."

Theodore "Tad" Ackman Jr. and Robin D. Gorsky Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Theodore "Tad" R. Ackman Jr. and Robin D. Gorsky Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by friends, family, and colleagues in memory of Robin D. Gorsky and her husband Tad Ackman. The fund provides a minimum of two scholarships each year: one in the name of Tad Ackman is awarded to students majoring in journalism or communications; the second in the name of Robin Gorsky is awarded to a student engaged in sciences related to public health.

Edward Cass Adams Fund

Established in 1981 by Analesa F. Adams MacLeod, the Edward Cass Adams Fund provides scholarship support to students engaged in the study of wildlife management and research or the conservation of natural resources.

Forrest Eugene Adams Memorial Scholarship

The Forrest Eugene Adams Memorial Scholarship was established by the Class of 1922 to honor the men and women who died during World War I. The fund provides a scholarship to a student with a demonstrated financial need, with preference given to students who are descendents of a member of the Class of 1922.

Robert P. Ahern Memorial Scholarship

The Robert P. Ahern Memorial Scholarship was established by associates of Robert Ahern '38 in recognition of his career serving the New England agricultural industry. The fund provides scholarship support to upperclassmen majoring in animal sciences, with preference given to students with an interest in poultry.

Albin Entrepreneurship Fund

The Albin Entrepreneurship Fund was established in 1995, by H.C. "Bud" Albin Jr. '55 in honor of his fiftieth class reunion. The fund encourages and advances entrepreneurship within the Whittemore School of Business and Economics and supports activities related to entrepreneurship, primarily in New Hampshire.

Dr. Norman Alexander Teaching Excellence Fund

The Dr. Norman Alexander Teaching Excellence Fund was established in 1998 by Arnold P. and Della Hanson to honor Dr. Norman Alexander who served from 1929-1948 as a faculty member, dean of men, and chair of the government department at the University. The fund supports UNH Faculty Excellence awards annually.

Winnie R. Allen Scholarship

Established in 1980 by Winnie R. Allen, the Winnie R. Allen Scholarship provides scholarship support to deserving students.

UNH Alumni Association Enrichment Fund

The UNH Alumni Association Enrichment Fund was established with a gift from the Isabelle R. Dionne estate and additional gifts through the UNH Alumni Association. The fund provides continuing support for enrichment programs, services, and purposes benefiting alumni, faculty, and students of UNH.

UNH Alumni Memorial Theatre/Dance Performance Endowed Fund

The UNH Alumni Memorial Theatre/Dance Performance Endowed Fund was established to commemorate UNH alumni/alumnae and friends whose lives and careers were cut short by AIDS or other illness. The fund enables an annual award to an undergraduate student in the Department of Theatre and Dance who displays outstanding performance ability in theatre, dance, or musical theatre.

UNH Alumni Association Endowed Alumni Scholars Fund

The UNH Alumni Association Endowed Alumni Scholars Fund was established in 2000 by the UNH Alumni Association and UNH alumni. The fund provides scholarship support to direct lineal descendents of members of the UNH Alumni Association. UNH Alumni Scholars must be enrolled in a four-year degree program at the University and must demonstrate high academic achievement and promise.

American Agriculturalist Foundation Scholarship

The American Agriculturalist Foundation Scholarship was established to provide scholarship support to a deserving rural student with preference given to students transferring from a two-year to a four-year college.

The New Hampshire Chapter of the American Society for Metals Fund

The New Hampshire Chapter of the American Society for Metals Fund was established at UNH with a gift from the New Hampshire Chapter of the American Society for Metals. The fund provides financial support to the materials group in the Department of Engineering for books, journals, guest speakers, equipment, travel, and undergraduate and graduate scholarships.

Alumni Meritorious Service Association Award

The Alumni Meritorious Service Association Award of the UNH Alumni Association provides an annual award at Honors Convocation to a UNH junior who excels in academics and extracurricular activities.

Thomas R. Anderson Fund

The Thomas R. Anderson Fund provides funds for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering to use at its discretion.

Richard A. Andrews Memorial Award

The Richard A. Andrews Memorial Award was established by friends and colleagues of Richard A. Andrews. The award recognizes the senior resources management major with the highest accumulative grade-point average in resource economics, economics, mathematics, and statistics.

William H. Annis Fund for Occupational Education

The William H. Annis Fund for Occupational Education was established with a gift from Mildred R. St. Pierre. The fund provides financial support to the occupational education program at the University.

Doris Child Reney Armbrust Fund

The Doris Child Reney Armbrust Fund was established by Doris Armbrust who received her masters in elementary education from UNH in 1942. The fund provides support for the University's Marine Program.

Reginald F. Atkins Scholarship

The Reginald F. Atkins Scholarship was established by Reginald F. Atkins, who received his bachelor of arts from the University in 1928. The fund provides scholarship aid to students who have attended two full years, graduated from a New Hampshire public or private school, and demonstrate athletic and academic purpose.

Reginald F. Atkins Chair

The Reginald F. Atkins Chair was established by Reginald F. Atkins, who received his bachelor of arts from the University in 1928. The fund supports an academic chair at the Whittemore School of Business and Economics.

Arden Atkins Scholarship

The Arden Atkins Scholarship was established in 1996 by Arden G. Atkins '33 to provide scholarship support to students who have demonstrated financial need and possess outstanding scholastic and athletic abilities.

Colonel John and Helena K. Ayotte Endowed Scholarship

Established in 1991 by a private donor, the Colonel John and Helena K. Ayotte Endowed Scholarship provides financial assistance to students enrolled at UNH.

John Edwin Bachelder Family Trust Scholarship Fund

The John Edwin Bachelder Family Trust Scholarship Fund was established by Albert B. Bachelder as a memorial to his father, mother, and their children. The fund provides scholarship support for students from Merrimack County, New Hampshire, attending the Thompson School with preference given to students from Loudon, New Hampshire.

Dr. Leslie Bacon Award in Chemical Engineering

The Dr. Leslie Bacon Award in Chemical Engineering was established with a gift from Leslie R. Bacon '24 to recognize the senior with the highest proficiency in chemical engineering as determined by the faculty of the chemical engineering department.

Katherine Bailey Endowment Fund

The Katherine Bailey Endowment Fund is awarded annually to the senior demonstrating the highest proficiency in chemistry during their undergraduate career. Established by Dr. C.H. Bailey 1879 of Gardner, Massachusetts, and E.A. Bailey 1885 of Keene, New Hampshire, the award has been funded since 1888 by previous prize winners.

Richard and Georgia Balomenos Memorial Fund

The Richard and Georgia Balomenos Memorial Fund was established at UNH by the family and friends of Richard and Georgia Balomenos. The fund provides support to enhance the educational opportunities available to students through the Math Lab at the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences.

Bank Meridien Endowed Scholarship

The Bank Meridien Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a graduate of Winnacunnet High School or Exeter Area High School entering their freshman year at UNH. The award is based on academic achievement, involvement in school and community activities, and demonstrated good citizenship.

Peter Lino Barili Memorial Scholarship

The Peter Lino Barili Memorial Scholarship was established in 1971 by John H. Lindahl, Edward A. Shapiro, and alumni of the Sigma Beta fraternity. The fund was created in memory of Peter Lino Barili '68, a Sigma Beta brother who gave his life in Vietnam on February 21, 1971 at the age of twenty-four. The fund provides scholarship support to an undergraduate member of the Sigma Beta fraternity at UNH.

Paul Michael Barlow Memorial Prize Fund

The Paul Michael Barlow Memorial Prize Fund was established by Professor Barlow in memory of his son, Paul Michael Barlow, a UNH student with a strong interest in religious studies and philosophy. The fund provides recognition to undergraduates majoring in philosophy.

Barrows/Bogart Cycling Scholarship Fund

The Barrows/Bogart Cycling Scholarship Fund was established by alumni and friends of the UNH cycling program in memory of former members of the Cycling Club, including David Barrows '86 and Brian Bogart, a member in 1990. The fund provides financial support to students at the University who are active participants in the Cycling Club.

Governor John H. Bartlett Fund

The Governor John H. Bartlett Fund was established in 1955 by former New Hampshire Governor John H. Bartlett to support a yearly award for a needy student or students from Sunapee, New Hampshire.

Gordon H. Bassett Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Gordon H. Bassett Endowed Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to full-time students majoring in chemical engineering or chemistry.

George H. Batchelder Scholarship Fund

The George H. Batchelder Scholarship Fund was established in 2000 by George H. Batchelder '21 to provide an annual scholarship to a "scholar-athlete" recommended by the Wildcat Athletics Council.

Joseph D. Batcheller Memorial Endowed Fund

The Joseph D. Batcheller Memorial Endowed Fund was established in 1994 to commemorate Professor Joseph D. Batcheller's lifelong contribution to theatre at UNH. The fund enables an annual award to an undergraduate theatre major who displays outstanding performance ability in theatre or musical theatre.

Bearcamp Valley Garden Club Scholarship

The Bearcamp Valley Garden Club Scholarship provides financial support to an undergraduate or graduate student at the University majoring in horticulture, forestry, or environmental conservation.

The Norman I. Bearse Memorial Scholarship in Chemical Engineering

The Norman I. Bearse Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by the family of Norman Bearse '21, a member of Kappa Sigma and Alpha Chi Sigma fraternities. The fund provides financial support assistance to a full-time undergraduate New Hampshire resident student at UNH who is majoring in chemical engineering.

Beaupre Entrepreneurial Scholarship Fund

The Beaupre Entrepreneurial Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 by Andre P. Beaupre '75, Karen Beaupre, Timothy Beaupre, and Nicole Beaupre, graduates of Somersworth High School. The fund provides four-year, full-tuition scholarships to entering freshmen who are graduates of Somersworth High School and who exemplify the entrepreneurial spirit necessary for personal and professional success.

Jessie Potter Beck Endowed Scholarship Fund for Music

The Jessie Potter Beck Endowed Scholarship Fund for Music was established with a gift from Martha Beck Burton and David M. Burton to award scholarships to graduate or undergraduate students studying music.

John A. Beckett Writing Prize

Established by faculty to honor Professor John A. Beckett, the John A. Beckett Writing Prize is awarded each year for the best written paper submitted by an undergraduate as a part of regular course work.

Kathleen Beckingham Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Kathleen Beckingham Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 by Kathleen Beckingham '40 to provide scholarship support to assist undergraduate students who are members of an athletic team or program at UNH.

Marion C. Beckwith Endowed Fund

The Marion C. Beckwith Endowed Fund was established in 1980 by Marion C. Beckwith to support the Department of Physical Education for such things as books, journals, guest speakers, equipment, travel, and undergraduate scholarships.

Eric Wilkes Bell Memorial Award

The Eric Wilkes Bell Memorial Award was established in 2000 by the family and friends of Eric Wilkes Bell to provide annual research grants to undergraduate students majoring in soil conservation, environmental conservation, water resource management, forestry, or wildlife management in the Department of Natural Resources.

Joseph A. Bellavance Football Scholarship Fund

Established in 2000 by Joseph A. Bellavance '62, the Joseph A. Bellavance Football Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support for UNH students participating on the men's football team, allowing the University to recruit and retain the best student athletes. Awards are based on athletic ability and academic promise, with preference given to students from New Hampshire.

Katherine Benson-Dubreuil Annual Scholarship Fund

The Katherine Benson-Dubreuil Annual Scholarship Fund was established by the children of Katherine Benson-Dubreuil, Charles, Michelle, James, and Mary-Lynne. The scholarship is based upon academic merit and awarded to a student accepted into the five-year Teacher Education Program.

George E. Bergeron Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 2000 by George Bergeron '63, the George E. Bergeron Endowed Scholarship Fund provides scholarship assistance to undergraduate students from New Hampshire and Maine.

Raymond J. Bernier Scenic Arts Scholarship Fund

The Raymond J. Bernier Scenic Arts Scholarship Fund was established in 1986 by friends and colleagues of Professor Raymond Bernier, a long-time faculty member and scenic arts designer/technical director for the University Theater. The scholarship provides assistance to full-time undergraduate students.

Berry-Mattoon Fund

Established with a gift from Donald and Marion Mattoon as part of the Class of 1922 Golden Anniversary Fund, the Berry-Mattoon Fund provides scholarship support to students based on academic standing and financial need.

Michael P. Berry Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 2001 by Michael P. Berry '71, the Michael P. Berry Endowed Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to UNH undergraduate students who are New Hampshire residents. Preference is given to students from rural communities, and scholarships are based on financial need.

John and Marjorie Beyersdorf Fund for International Research

The John and Marjorie Beyersdorf Fund for International Research was established in 2005 by John P. Beyersdorf '57 and Marjorie McCausland Beyersdorf to enable UNH undergraduate students to participate in a University-approved international research experience through the International Research Opportunities Program or a similar successor program.

The Harry G. Bickford Scholarship

The Harry G. Bickford Scholarship was established by Harry G. Bickford to provide financial assistance to students participating in the Isles of Shoals Marine Laboratory Summer Session.

Gail A. Bigglestone Memorial Athletic Scholarship Fund

The Gail A. Bigglestone Memorial Athletic Scholarship Fund was established in 2005 in memory of Gail Bigglestone by her family and friends. This fund provides scholarship support to student athletes participating in UNH women's field hockey, lacrosse, or skiing. Awards are based on athletic ability and leadership, with recipients nominated by the coach of each respective team.

Jane Blalock Endowed Athletic Scholarship Fund

The Jane Blalock Endowed Athletic Scholarship Fund was established by Jane Blalock with proceeds from the UNH Pro-Am Classic/Jane Blalock Pro-Am Classic to provide a permanent source of funding for the Jane Blalock Rookie-of-the-Year Award, an annual award in the Department of Women's Athletics, and for scholarship support for women athletes.

Frank Block Graduate Chemistry Fund

The Frank Block Graduate Chemistry Fund was established by Frank Block to provide discretionary support to Chemistry graduate students.

Milton Bloomfield Fund

The Milton Bloomfield Fund was established in 2000 by Milton Bloomfield '48 to provide flexible support for the Climate Change Research Center.

Anna Mosher Boardman 4-H Fund

Established in 2000 by the 4-H Foundation of New Hampshire, the Anna Mosher Boardman 4-H Fund provides general, unrestricted support to the New Hampshire 4-H youth development program.

Frank E. Booma Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Frank E. Booma Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by the Class of 1928 to honor Frank E. Booma '20, who died in World War I. The fund provides scholarship support to University students.

Clarence "Chief" Boston Endowed Football Scholarship Fund

The Clarence "Chief" Boston Endowed Football Scholarship Fund was established in 2004 in honor of Chief Boston by his family, friends, and former students. The fund provides scholarship support for UNH students participating on the men's football team. Awards are based on athletic ability and academic promise.

Roger M. Bougie '56 Scholarship Fund

Established in 2005 by Roger M. Bougie '56, the Roger M. Bougie '56 Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to students from New Hampshire or Maine, based on financial need and potential for future achievement.

Louis P. Bourgoin Scholarship Fund

Established in 1955 by alumni and friends in honor of Louis P. Bourgoin, who served as the Chief of Police for UNH and the town of Durham for 37 years, the Louis P. Bourgoin Scholarship Fund provides unrestricted scholarship support to UNH students.

Harvey L. Boutwell Scholarship Fund

The Harvey L. Boutwell Scholarship Fund was established in 1938 by Harvey L. Boutwell 1882, to provide scholarship support to students "who could otherwise find it difficult to obtain a higher education."

C. Hilton Boynton Fund

Friends, colleagues, and students established the C. Hilton Boynton Fund in 1975 in honor of C. Hilton Boynton, a distinguished dairy scientist who served UNH from 1945 to 1972. The fund supports a dairy cattle judging trip by UNH students and provides scholarships to animal science majors, especially those interested in dairy science.

Jeanne Hills Brandon Fund for Music

The Jeanne Hill Brandon Fund for Music was established in 2002 by the estate of Jeanne Hill Brandon. The fund provides support for the educational and instructional music program at the University with a preference for the brass program generally and the trumpet program in particular.

Jean Brierley Fund

The Jean Brierley Fund was established by Jean Brierley '30 to provide an annual award to a faculty member on the basis of conspicuous service to the University, giving special weight to a record of outstanding teaching.

Edmund L. Brigham Scholarship Fund

The Edmund L. Brigham Scholarship Fund was established in 1931 by Eunietta Brigham in memory of her husband Edmund L. Brigham 1876. The fund provides scholarship support to University students.

Ben Bronstein Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Ben Bronstein Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by Samuel Bronstein in memory of his brother, Dr. Ben R. Bronstein '36 to provide annual assistance to one undergraduate premedical student based on academic excellence.

Warren Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Warren Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by the family and friends of Warren Robert Brown, a hockey player who was a UNH sophomore administration major at the time of his death in 1973. The fund provides scholarship support to undergraduate students engaged in any intercollegiate sport, with preference given to hockey.

Alpha Tau Omega Albert H. Brown Scholarship Fund

The Alpha Tau Omega Albert H. Brown Scholarship Fund was established in 1973 by Albert H. Brown, the first initiate of the Delta Delta chapter of Alpha Tau Omega to provide scholarship to support ATO initiates.

Edna O. Brown Scholarship Fund

Established in 1964 by Edna O. Brown '09, the Edna O. Brown Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to recognize outstanding achievement at UNH.

Orton B. Brown Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Orton B. Brown Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Orton B. Brown, former president of the Brown Paper Company, and his wife, Caroline. The fund provides scholarship aid to a Berlin, New Hampshire, High School graduate enrolled at UNH.

Brownell Family Scholarship Fund

The Brownell Family Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 by David P. and Jerilyn Brownell, long-time supporters of public education and UNH. The fund provides scholarship support to New Hampshire residents who have the scholastic ability, but not the financial ability, to attend UNH.

Creeley S. "Buck" Buchanan Football Fund

The Creeley S. "Buck" Buchanan Football Fund was established by Creeley S. Buchanan '40 to recognize a member of the University's football team who has distinguished himself within the University community beyond any accomplishments within the sport itself.

Philip R. Burlingame Sr. Student Fund

Established in 1966 by Philip R. Burlingame, the Philip R. Burlingame Sr. Student Fund offers financial support to seniors enrolled in the Department of Education.

Kate Harvey Burns Scholarship Fund

The Kate Harvey Burns Scholarship Fund was established in 1998 by Rose F. Carvill '31 in memory of her aunt, Kate Harvey Burns. The fund provides financial assistance to full-time undergraduate students at UNH who are residents of New Hampshire, with preference given to first-year students.

Callahan Family Scholarship

The Callahan Family Scholarship was established by Marjorie Callahan Nolan '41 and Florence Callahan '45 '52G to provide financial support for undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture.

Callahan Family Football Scholarship

The Callahan Family Football Scholarship was established by Elsa Hopkins Callahan '66 and James F. Callahan Jr. to provide scholarship support to out-of-state student athletes participating on the UNH football team.

James and Elsa Hopkins Callahan Scholarship Fund

Established in 2001 by James F. Callahan Jr. and Elsa Hopkins Callahan '66, the James and Elsa Hopkins Callahan Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support for out-of-state student athletes participating on the UNH football team. All awards are based on financial need, with preference to students who demonstrate a spirited work ethic and a commitment to excel in academics as well as athletics.

Christine St. Martin Carberry ′82 Endowed Fund for Biological Sciences

Established in 2005 through the generosity of Christine St. Martin Carberry ′82, the Christine St. Martin Carberry ′82 Endowed Fund for Biological Sciences provides for faculty research, scholarship awards and program support for the biological sciences in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture.

Grant G. Carlson Art Award

The Grant G. Carlson Art Award was established in 1991 in memory of Grant G. Carlson by his family. The fund provides recognition and encouragement to a full-time undergraduate junior or senior pursuing a bachelor of art in studio art or a bachelor of fine arts degree. Preference is given to students with demonstrated talent and ability in the areas of drawing, watercolor, pottery, and/or sculpture.

Miriam Holman Carlson Memorial Fund

The Miriam Holman Carlson Memorial Fund was established in 2000 in memory of Miriam Holman Carlson '52 by her husband, Louis E. Carlson, to provide scholarship assistance for undergraduate students majoring in sociology.

Gertrude Phelps Carlson Memorial Scholarship

The Gertrude Phelps Carlson Memorial Scholarship was established in 1976 in memory of Gertrude Phelps Carlson by her husband, Oscar R. Carlson, to support students with demonstrated financial need, scholastic achievement, and a potential for leadership in areas such as athletics, dramatics, journalism, music, or student government.

John T. and Doris H. Carpenter Professorship

Established by John T. and Doris H. Carpenter, the John T. and Doris H. Carpenter Professorship supports the UNH Centennial Professorship Program.

Marietta "Penny" and Jane Carr Endowed Fund

The Marietta "Penny" and Jane Carr Endowed Fund was established by Marietta "Penny" Carr '47 to provide financial assistance and support to undergraduate students who are residents of New Hampshire and who are degree matriculants within the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture.

Peterson Carsey Endowed Minority Scholarship Fund

The Peterson Carsey Endowed Minority Scholarship was established by Marcia Peterson Carsey '66 to support minority undergraduate or graduate students, with preference given to students who have participated in the Select Summer Program in English and Music.

Peterson Carsey Endowed Fund for Theatre

The Peterson Carsey Endowed Fund for Theatre was established by Marcia Peterson Carsey '66 to provide funds for the support and development of outreach and service programs in the Department of Theatre and Dance.

Carsey Fund for Effective Families and Communities

The Carsey Fund for Effective Families and Communities was established in 2002 by Marcia Peterson Carsey '66 to provide ongoing financial support for the Carsey Institute for Effective Families and Communities, which conducts research on rural families and communities.

Peterson Carsey Fund for the Performing Arts

The Peterson Carsey Fund for the Performing Arts was established in 1989 by the Carsey Family Foundation to meet special funding needs of performing arts programs at UNH.

James R. Carter Memorial Scholarship

The Carter family established the James R. Carter Memorial Scholarship as an enhancement of the James R. Carter Professorship in the Whittemore School of Business and Economics to provide a unique educational opportunity for professor-student professional collaboration.

James R. Carter Professorship of Management

The James R. Carter Professorship of Management was established to strengthen the UNH Whittemore School's management faculty by supporting a faculty position for a person who has made an outstanding professional contribution in teaching, service and/or research in the field of professional management. The position will be offered to a prospective faculty member as an added inducement to join the faculty, a visiting scholar whose temporary presence will be an unusual advantage for the school, or to a current faculty member in recognition of his/her outstanding professional contribution.

Arthur H. Carter Scholarship Fund

The Arthur H. Carter Scholarship Fund was established 2003 by Marjorie Sells Carter in memory of her husband, Arthur H. Carter. The fund provides scholarship support to residents of New England who need financial assistance with preference given to Connecticut and New Hampshire students.

Winthrop Carter Fund

The Winthrop Carter Fund was established by Mr. and Mrs. Winthrop L. Carter to recognize the importance of The Art Gallery at UNH and the major role it plays in exhibits for the University community. The fund supports the Gallery's programs, most specifically the completion of the Art in New Hampshire exhibition project.

Cartlands-of-Lee Scholarship Fund

Established in 1965 by Martha Hale Shackford, the Cartlands-of-Lee Scholarship Fund provides scholarship assistance to students with demonstrated financial need who are engaged in the study of the humanities.

Cash-Bryson Scholarship

The Cash-Bryson Scholarship was established by August and Esther Joyce Bryson Cash in honor of their parents, John and Mary Cash and Joseph and Agnes Bryson. The fund provides scholarship support to junior or senior mechanical engineering majors who exemplify the qualities of interest, enthusiasm, and potential in the discipline of mechanical engineering.

Paul H. Caswell and Family Endowed Fund

Established in 1999 by Paul and Barbara Bradley Caswell, the Paul H. Caswell and Family Endowed Fund provides annual scholarship support for full-time undergraduate students who are New Hampshire residents. Awards are based on academic merit and financial need, with preference given to students from the New Hampshire seacoast communities of Portsmouth, New Castle, Rye, North Hampton, and Hampton.

Roxann Chamberlin Coos County 4-H Youth Development Fund

The Roxann Chamberlin Coos County 4-H Youth Development Fund was established in 1999 by Matthew G. Bevin in honor of Roxann Chamberlin to enable youth to participate in programs and activities that focus on developing and strengthening leadership, citizenship, vocational, and personal skills.

Champlin Scholarship Fund

Mr. and Mrs. William H. Champlin Jr. established the Champlin Scholarship Fund in 1983 to aid students majoring in mechanical engineering. Awards are made to juniors with preference given to those who show interest in the study and advancement of aeronautics.

Established in 1954, the Concord Alumni Scholarship Fund provides a scholarship to one male and one female graduating senior from Concord, New Hampshire, who exhibit scholarship, financial need, and leadership abilities.

The Conover Endowed Fund was established by Charlotte D. Conover '45 to enable the UNH Department of Music to bring visiting professors, lecturers, musicians, and distinguished guests to the campus to enhance the total music academic program at the University.

Virginia M. and William L. Conrad Undergraduate Research Award in Plant Biology

The Virginia M. and William L. Conrad Undergraduate Research Award in Plant Biology was established in 1991 by Dr. Peter L. and Janice Marchut Conrad, members of the class of 1968, in memory of Dr. Conrad's parents. The fund provides recognition and support for undergraduate research in plant biology by funding awards to students who have shown a high aptitude for research in plant biology.

Charlotte and Herb Cooper Scholarship Fund

The Charlotte and Herb Cooper Scholarship Fund was established by Charlotte and Herb Cooper to provide scholarship assistance to students enrolled in the Thompson School of Applied Science who exhibit academic merit and financial need.

Howard W. Cope Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund

Friends of Howard W. Cope '50 established the Howard W. Cope Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund in 1979 to provide scholarships to married, divorced or widowed undergraduates who have dependent children, are enrolled in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, and exhibit outstanding academic achievement, personal leadership, and financial need.

Paul E. Corriveau Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Class of 1923 established the Paul E. Corriveau Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of Paul Edward Corriveau '15, a lieutenant in the U.S. Army who died in World War I. Preference is given to descendents of alumni.

Paul A. Cote Scholarship Fund

Established by Paul A. Cote, the Paul A. Cote Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to full-time undergraduate students in their second, third, or fourth year of matriculation at UNH who exhibit financial need and academic ability.

Counseling Program Annual Scholarship Fund

The Counseling Program Annual Scholarship Fund was established by alumni of the Graduate Program in Counseling to provide tuition support and assistance to outstanding students enrolled in the Graduate Program in Counseling.

Nancy J. Coutu Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Nancy J. Coutu Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2002 by family and friends of Nancy J. Coutu '93 to provide scholarship support to students majoring in wildlife management who exhibit academic merit, financial need, and extracurricular involvement in the UNH Wildlife Program.

Crop Protection Institute Fund

The Crop Protection Institute Fund was established in 1983 to provide financial support to master of science or doctor of philosophy candidates engaged in agricultural chemical-oriented research, or students whose major field of study is animal science.

Combustion Engineering-Newington Site Award

The Combustion Engineering-Newington Site Award was established in recognition of Professor Frederick Hochgraf and the Mechanical Engineering Department to provide an annual award to third- or fourth-year students who are enrolled in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences and majoring in mechanical engineering, with preference given to those students working in materials.

Melbourne W. Cummings Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Melbourne W. Cummings Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by Melbourne W. Cummings '29 to assist the University in recruiting and retaining a diverse student body by providing scholarships to undergraduates from out of state.

Fisher Currier Scholarship Fund

The Fisher Currier Scholarship Fund was established by the New Hampshire Daughters to provide scholarship support to a female student who is a New Hampshire resident.

William T. Cushing Memorial Scholarship Fund

The William T. Cushing Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by his parents, Thomas Cushing '49 and Mildred Heath Cushing '52 to provide financial assistance to students in the Whittemore School of Business and Economics who are New Hampshire residents and exhibit academic achievement and personal leadership. Preference is given to qualified students from Franklin, New Hampshire.

Elmer F. and Marion Mitchell Cutts Scholarship Fund

Established by Marion Edwena Mitchell Cutts '16, the Elmer F. and Marion Mitchell Cutts Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to students enrolled in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences who exhibit outstanding ability, good morals, and financial need. Preference is given to seniors, then juniors, sophomores, and freshman.

The Dr. A.F. Daggett Endowed Fund was established in 1999 in honor of Dr. A. Frederick Daggett, professor emeritus of chemistry, by George Galanes '49. The fund provides research support for undergraduate students in the Chemistry Department.

The Dakin Family Scholarship Fund was established in 2000 by Vergilia Paasche Dakin '67 to provide scholarship support to students majoring in family studies, with a concentration in child studies, who exhibit academic merit and financial need.

Alexander P. Danoff Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Alexander P. Danoff Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by members of the Danoff family in honor of Professor Alexander Danoff, who served as a professor of German from 1949 to 1969. The fund provides scholarship support to undergraduate or graduate German majors who exhibit academic excellence.

Morris F. Darling Memorial Fund

The Morris F. Darling Memorial Fund was established in 1993 by his family to provide enhanced financial support to the UNH varsity and recreation crew programs.

Gilbert B. Davenport Theatre Award

The Gilbert B. Davenport Theatre Award was established in 2003 by Michael O'Malley '88, a student of Gilbert B. Davenport, professor emeritus of theatre and dance. The fund provides scholarship awards to junior and senior theatre majors who embody the collaborative theatrical spirit of Gil Davenport through department curricular and core-curricular activities.

Thomas J. Davis Prize Award

The Thomas J. Davis Prize Award fund was established in 1915 by Thomas J. Davis to recognize students in the Thompson School of Applied Science for proficiency in dairy cattle judging.

The Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Davison Professorship was established in 1975 to allow the University to compete for the best academic talent when recruiting new faculty or recognizing outstanding existing faculty.

Young P. Dawkins III Endowed Prize in Creative Writing

The Young P. Dawkins III Endowed Prize in Creative Writing was established in 2005 in honor of the UNH Foundation's third president, Young P. Dawkins III, by current and former members of the UNH Foundation Board of Directors and colleagues at the University. The fund provides an annual award to the graduating student with the most outstanding final thesis in the master of fine arts within the English Department.

Glenice Dearborn Scholarship Fund

Established in 2001 by Glenice Dearborn Fluery, the Glenice Dearborn Scholarship Fund provides annual scholarships for students who have maintained a "B" or equivalent grade average or better in their, second or third year of undergraduate studies at UNH in a bachelor of science degree program in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences.

Stephen Decesare Memorial Scholarship Fund

Friends and family of Stephen D. Decesare established the Stephen Decesare Memorial Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance to full-time undergraduate students in their sophomore, junior, or senior years who graduated from Salem High School, Salem, New Hampshire. Recipients must have at least a 2.00 grade point average and exhibit good citizenship, an interest in civic activities, and financial need.

The Virginia Paul Dee Professorship was established by E. Paul Casey in memory of his mother, Virginia Paul Dee to attract and retain outstanding faculty in accounting and finance.

The Virginia Paul Dee Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by E. Paul Casey in memory of his mother, Virginia Paul Dee to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students who are children of employees of Davidson Rubber Company to encourage qualified students to further their education.

Katherine DeMeritt Memorial Fund

The Katherine DeMeritt Memorial Fund was established in 1974 by Margaret DeMeritt Croghan '11, first alumna trustee of the University, in memory of her sister, Katherine DeMeritt '08, and in recognition of her parents' lifelong connection with the University. Elizabeth P. DeMeritt served as dean of women from 1919 to 1931, and Albert DeMeritt served as a trustee from 1892 to 1895. The Katherine DeMeritt Memorial Fund provides a scholarship award to a junior woman who has shown great aptitude for helpful leadership, cheerful loyalty, strength of character, and scholastic attainments.

W. Edwards Deming Scholarship Fund

The W. Edwards Deming Scholarship Fund was established by Dr. W. Edward Deming to provide scholarship support to a full-time student majoring in mathematics who has achieved excellence in the field of statistics.

Robert L. Deming Memorial Scholarship Fund

The family of Robert L. Deming '43 established the Robert L. Deming Memorial Scholarship Fund in 1968. The fund supports a scholarship to a New Hampshire resident in good academic standing.

Kenneth E. Denham Memorial Scholarship Fund

The family and friends of Kenneth E. Denham '74 established the Kenneth E. Denham Memorial Scholarship Fund to provide scholarship assistance to a student with demonstrated financial need in good academic standing, with special consideration given to student residents of New York and Massachusetts.

Michael DePorte English Department Book Fund

Family and friends of Michael DePorte and faculty and staff of the English Department established the Michael DePorte English Department Book Fund in 2005 in memory of Michael DePorte, professor of literature at UNH, to provide a source of funds for faculty members for the purchase of texts in support of their teaching and research.

Dey Family Fund

The Dey Family Fund was established in 2001 by Kinsley van Rensselaer "K.v." Dey Jr. '48, his wife, Patricia Caswell Dey, and two of their children, Pamela Dey Vossler '81, and Frederick C. "Ted" Dey '84. The Dey Family Fund provides financial support to the University's Writing Across the Curriculum Program, which fosters the development of student learning and academic, professional, and civic literacy.

Dickie Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Dickie Family Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by Logan R. Dickie Jr. '37 and Phyllis Beattie Dickie to provide scholarship support to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture. Awards are based on academic merit and demonstrated financial need.

Robert "Bo" Dickson Endowed Scholarship Fund and Spirit Award

The Robert "Bo" Dickson Scholarship Fund and Spirit Award was established by friends, family, and colleagues of Robert W. Dickson '62 to provide an annual award to a member of the football team, alumnus, or friend of UNH football who exhibits dedication, spirit, and commitment to the football team. A scholarship award may also be made from this fund to a New Hampshire resident who is a member of the football team.

Albert W. Diniak Memorial Fund

The Albert W. Diniak Memorial Fund was established in 1965 by Olympia P. Diniak in memory of her husband, Albert W. Diniak '40 '50G to support a scholarship for an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in chemistry.

Elinor Dodge Endowment

The Elinor Dodge Endowment was created with funds from the Elinor Dodge Trust in support of the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture.

The Joy Dokos Diagnostic Research Fund

The Joy Dokos Diagnostic Research Fund was established by Joy Dokos '57 to be used by the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture for research at their diagnostic laboratories.

Donovan Family Scholarship Fund

The Donovan Family Scholarship Fund was established in 2004 by George D. Donovan Jr. '88 and Mary McGrath Donovan '90 to provide supplemental scholarship support to students currently enrolled or enrolling in the Whittemore School of Business and Economics. Scholarship recipients must demonstrate an unexpected and difficult change of circumstances that may have an unfavorable effect on their enrollment at the University.

Ben and Zelma Dorson Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established by Zelma Dorson, the Ben and Zelma Dorson Endowed Scholarship Fund provides scholarship aid to one or more undergraduate students who are residents of New Hampshire and demonstrate financial need.

Zelma Dorson Endowed Fund for the Humanities

The Zelma Dorson Endowed Fund for the Humanities was established by Zelma Dorson in memory of Benjamin Dorson '34 to support the programs and activities of the University's Center for the Humanities.

Edward H. Downing Fund

The Edward H. Downing Fund was established by Edward H. Downing to support the purchase of books and periodicals for the University Library.

David W. Drew Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established in 1974 by the family, friends, and associates of David W. Drew '73, the David W. Drew Memorial Scholarship Fund provides assistance to students who participate in academically sponsored summer coursework or research in marine biology in a location other than New Hampshire and its coastal waters. Recipients must be juniors or seniors who have demonstrated scholarship and who participate in career-related activities beyond the normal curriculum.

Dugal Endowed Hockey Scholarship Fund

The Dugal Endowed Hockey Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 by Timothy J. Dugal '79 and Deborah A. Dugal to provide scholarship support for students participating on the men's hockey team, allowing the University to recruit and retain the best student athletes.

Sam Dumais Memorial Scholarship

Established by the Strafford County Kennel Club, the Sam Dumais Memorial Scholarship provides an annual award to a second-year, full-time Thompson School of Applied Science student from New Hampshire, with preference to students from Strafford or Carroll Counties. The recipient must be enrolled in the small animal program, have earned at least a 3.0 grade-point average during their freshman year, and have demonstrated financial need.

S. Judson Dunaway Endowed Fund

Established in 1976 by S. Judson Dunaway, the S. Judson Dunaway Endowed Fund provides scholarship support for students enrolled in the Whittemore School of Business and Economics.

John and Lillian Perkins Duncan Memorial Book Fund

The John and Lillian Perkins Duncan Memorial Book Fund was established in1977 by Lillian P. Duncan '33 to provide resources for the purchase of books by the University Library.

William L. Dunfey Endowment for the Study of History

The William L. Dunfey Endowment for the Study of History was established by William "Bud" Dunfey '50 to support the William L. Dunfey Visiting Professorship in History.

William Dunlop Fund

Established in 1998 by William R. Dunlop, the William Dunlop Fund provides support to the Department of Animal Science to further the study and teaching of tissue culture or to expand and improve the Department of Animal Sciences' biological library relating to tissue culture.

The Ernest Clifford Easter Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Dr. Ernest Clifford Easter '53 '54G by his wife, Barbara Gordon Easter. The fund provides scholarship support for undergraduate students based on academic merit and financial need.

Clyde S. and Isabelle H. Eaton Agricultural Scholarship

Established by Clyde S. and Isabelle H. Eaton in 1979, the Clyde S. and Isabelle H. Eaton Agricultural Scholarship provides financial assistance to a full-time, upperclass undergraduate in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture who is interested in animals or plant agriculture and who exhibits academic achievement.

Sally Pike Edelman Memorial Award

Established by family and friends in memory of Sally Pike Edelman '68 '77G, the Sally Pike Edelman Memorial Award is presented each semester to sophomores or upperclass students with demonstrated musical ability or to freshmen with potential as music majors. Preference is given first to French horn majors.

John C. Edwards Theatre Scholarship

The John C. Edwards Theatre Scholarship was established in 2006 by Michael O'Malley '88, a student of John C. Edwards, professor emeritus of theatre and dance.  Dr. Edwards taught at the University from 1961 through 1995 and was instrumental in the creation of the UNH Summer Repertory Theatre. The fund provides scholarship awards to sophomore, junior, and senior theatre majors who have an interest in performing. Students must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average.

Electrical and Computer Engineering Fund

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Fund was established in 1998 by the Industrial Associates Program (IAP), a consortium of several companies and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The fund provides financial awards to undergraduate students in the department based on student scholarship, professional promise, personal growth, demonstrated achievement, and the general commendation of the faculty.

David W. and Marion S. Ellis Fund

The David W. and Marion S. Ellis Fund was established in 2001 by David W. and Marion S. Ellis to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students in Chemistry or the Family Research Laboratory who participate in a University-approved international study experience. Students must demonstrate financial need and have completed three or more semesters with an overall grade point average of 2.5.

Gerald M. and Jane Campbell Ellsworth Endowed Fund for International Study

The Gerald M. and Jane Campbell Ellsworth Endowed Fund for International Study was established by Gerald M. Ellsworth '49 and Jane Campbell Ellsworth '50 to provide financial assistance for undergraduate students to participate in a University-approved international study experience. Students must have demonstrated financial need, have completed three or more semesters with an overall grade point average of 2.5 or greater, and be/will be matriculants in one of the University's approved international programs.

Barbara Sands Emery Fund

The Barbara Sands Emery Fund was established in 1977 to provide unrestricted funds for use at the discretion of the University president.

England Family Fund

The England Family Fund was established by Valerie Cutts Wilcox England '54 and Frederick J. England Jr. and their children. The England Family Fund provides recognition and financial support to a faculty member in the School of Health and Human Services to enhance teaching, research, and professional development, with preference given to faculty in the Occupational Therapy Department.

Harry W. Evans Scholarship Fund

Established in 1949 by Harry W. Evans 1901, the Harry W. Evans Scholarship Fund supports an annual scholarship for a graduate or undergraduate student of "high character and excellence in scholarship."

Excellence in Teaching Scholarship

The Excellence in Teaching Scholarship provides financial assistance to students involved in the internship portion of the graduate program in teacher education. Recipients must be graduates of New Hampshire high schools and are chosen for their academic performance and for their potential for contribution to the teaching profession.

Established by Eugene H. Leaver and Jeanne Fairbanks Leaver, the Facilities Services Endowment provides scholarship support to dependent children of employees in the Division of Physical O & M and the Division of Public Safety at UNH based on financial need, academic status, participation in extracurricular activities, character, and citizenship.

Fair Winds Farm Equine Scholarship Fund

The Fair Winds Farm Equine Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 by Mark C. Mullen '79, Laura Bowering Mullen '80, and Fair Winds Farm, Inc. The fund provides scholarship support to undergraduate students enrolled in the two- and four-year equine programs within the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture and the Thompson School of Applied Sciences. Awards are based on financial need and academic merit, with preference given to students demonstrating a strong interest in pursuing careers in the standardbred and thoroughbred racing industry.

Harry L. Farnham Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Harry L. Farnham Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1973 by Grace P. Glidden Farnham in memory of her husband. Harry L. Farnham '15 who served on the UNH Board of Trustees in 1944 and 1945. The fund provides scholarship support to students in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, with preference given to electrical engineering majors. Recipients must exhibit financial need and have at least a 2.00 grade-point average.

Ruth E. Farrington Forestry Scholarship Fund

Established in 1974 by Ruth E. Farrington, the Ruth E. Farrington Forestry Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support for students majoring in forest resources. Additional income from the fund provides discretionary support for the Forestry Department.

Joseph L. Fearer Scholarship Fund

The Joseph L. Fearer Scholarship Fund was established in 1943 by Joseph L. Fearer '31 to provide an annual scholarship to a sophomore, junior, or senior with high academic standing who is enrolled in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences.

Edward and Diane Federman Endowed Fund

Established in 2004 by Edward Federman '74 and Diane White Federman '75, the Edward and Diane Federman Endowed Fund provides a discretionary resource through which the University president may support critical priorities that advance the University's teaching, research, and outreach missions.

Andrew L. Felker Scholarship Fund

In 1952, friends established the Andrew L. Felker Scholarship Fund in memory of Dr. Andrew L. Felker, New Hampshire State Commissioner of Agriculture from 1913 to 1946. The fund provides scholarship support to a worthy student from a New Hampshire farm enrolled in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture.

Edward A. Fish Endowed Football Scholarship

The Edward A. Fish Endowed Football Scholarship was established in 1999 by Edward A. Fish '58 to provide annual scholarship awards to members of the UNH intercollegiate football team based on academic merit, athletic ability, and financial need.

Herman Charles Fogg Scholarship Fund

Established by Hazel Corliss Fogg '30 in memory of her husband, the Herman Charles Fogg Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to the student who has the highest average grade in analytical chemistry, qualitative and quantitative, at the end of their junior year.

Endowed Fund for Football

The Endowed Fund for Football was established in 2002 by an anonymous donor with a strong interest in football to provide an ongoing source of financial support for the UNH intercollegiate football program.

Richard M. Ford Endowed Memorial Fund

The Richard M. Ford Endowed Memorial Fund was established by Mr. and Mrs. William J. Ford in memory of their son Richard M. Ford '80.

Foreign Language Study Abroad Scholarship

Established by alumni and friends, Foreign Language Study Abroad Scholarships are awarded to full-time undergraduates who are foreign language majors or who participate in a recognized University foreign language sequence of courses. Recipients must have been accepted into an approved program for study abroad. Financial need is a consideration.

Sylvester M. Foster Fund

The Sylvester M. Foster Fund was established by Sylvester M. Foster 1884 to provide scholarship support to incoming freshmen.

Eugene Lewis and Mavis Howard Foster Class of 1944 Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Eugene Lewis and Mavis Howard Foster Class of 1944 Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by Dr. Eugene L. and Mavis Howard Foster in honor of the University's Class of 1944. The fund provides financial assistance to full-time undergraduate New Hampshire resident students and is based on academic merit, although financial need may be considered. Preference is given to students who graduated from the Fosters' alma mater, Spaulding High School in Rochester, New Hampshire.

Kenneth R. Fowler Scholarship Fund

The Kenneth R. Fowler Scholarship Fund was established in 1980 by friends of Kenneth R. Fowler to honor him on the occasion of his retirement after 50 years of service to the University. The fund provides scholarships to worthy undergraduate students who are enrolled in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture or the Thompson School of Applied Science and studying dairy science. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement and a sincere interest in working with superior dairy cattle; preference is given to residents of New England.

Donald Fox Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established by the family and friends of Donald Fox, the Donald Fox Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to New England residents enrolled in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences who exhibit financial need.

Dr. E. Elizabeth French Memorial Fund

The Dr. E. Elizabeth French Memorial Fund was established in 1993 by family, friends, colleagues, and alumni/alumnae of UNH and the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital School of Medical Technology to provide an annual scholarship to a deserving senior majoring in medical laboratory science to be used for the student's clinical internship. Recipients are chosen based on academic achievement, leadership, and service to the University or community.

Kyle F. Frey Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Kyle F. Frey Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2000 by Kyle F. Frey '86 to provide scholarship support for undergraduate students at the Whittemore School of Business and Economics who exhibit financial need. Preference is given to students from Connecticut.

The Friends of the UNH Library fund provides discretionary support for the UNH Library.

Friends of UNH Sailing

The Friends of UNH Sailing provides opportunities for persons and organizations interested in the University's Sailing Team to support team activities through fundraising efforts and other means serving the team's best interests.

Friends of UNH Soccer Fund

The Friends of UNH Soccer Fund was established by alumni and friends of UNH Soccer to provide support for UNH soccer activities.

Martha and Theodore Frizzell Fund

Established in 1990 by members of the Class of 1924 and bequests from Leslie R. Bacon '24, Martha Frizzell '24, and Theodore Frizzell '25, the Martha and Theodore Frizzell Fund provides scholarship support for undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture.

Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established by the Fuller Foundation of New Hampshire, the Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to juniors and seniors studying clinical psychology who exhibit academic achievement and personal leadership.

The fund provides scholarship support to undergraduate or graduate students, preferably pianists, who have the potential to reach a high level of achievement as performers.

German Society of Manchester Scholarship Fund

The German Society of Manchester Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to students of German ancestry from Manchester, New Hampshire.

Edward L. and Alice Forbes Getchell Scholarship Fund

The Edward L. and Alice Forbes Getchell Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Edward L. Getchell, professor of mechanical engineering, and Alice Forbes Gettchell by Sylvia Fitts Getchell '47 and L. Forbes Getchell '47. The fund provides financial support to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the University's College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. Recipients must be electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering majors who are graduates of New Hampshire high schools and who demonstrate financial need, academic merit, and service to their community.

The Mary Anne Gillespie '77G Graduate Scholarship Fund was established in 2005 by Mary Anne Gillespie '77G to provide scholarship support to students enrolled in the masters of business administration program in the Whittemore School of Business and Economics.

George T. "Gus" Gilman Scholarship Fund

The George T. "Gus" Gilman Scholarship Fund was established with gifts from friends and associates of George T. "Gus" Gilman in honor of his loyal support of the University. The fund provides scholarship assistance to New Hampshire residents who are full-time undergraduate students with specific interest in economics, the environment, wildlife, or other aspects affecting the quality of life in New Hampshire.

Paul Gilman Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Paul Gilman Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1978 by friends and Acacia brothers in honor of Paul A. Gilman, who was a professor of civil technology and a charter member of the New Hampshire chapter of Acacia fraternity. The fund provides financial assistance to full-time UNH undergraduates, with preference given to Thompson School students.

Adelaide M. Godding Fund

Established in 1955 by Adelaide M. Godding in honor of her native town of Epping, New Hampshire, the Adelaide M. Godding Fund provides financial assistance to UNH students.

Kelly Quinn Gode Endowed Fund for Crew

The Kelly Quinn Gode Endowed Fund for Crew was established in 2000 by Kelly Quinn Gode '88 and her husband, Scott Gode. The fund provides flexible support for the UNH Women's Crew Team, particularly for the purchase of equipment.

Herbert S. Gold Endowed Athletic Scholarship Fund

The Herbert S. Gold Endowed Athletic Scholarship Fund was established in 2002 by Jonathan M. Gold '77, Ruth Gold Paster '75, and Beverly Gold Goldman, in memory of Herbert S. Gold. The fund provides scholarship support for athletes actively participating in any intercollegiate sport at the University.

Golden Harvest Fund

This fund provides unrestricted, discretionary support for needs that come to the attention of the president of the University for which no funding, public or private, is available.

Norman Goroff Social Work Fund

Established by the Norman Goroff Workshop Committee, the Norman Goroff Social Work Fund is named in honor of Norman Goroff, director of the Northern New England Branch of the University of Connecticut Department of Social Work. The fund provides support for professional social work education for social workers and social work students in Northern New England.

Governor's Success Grant Scholarship Fund

The Governor's Success Grant Scholarship Fund provides individual student awards on the basis of merit and demonstrated financial need to full-time undergraduate students who are New Hampshire residents and who have completed their freshman year but have not earned a first baccalaureate degree.

University of New Hampshire Graduate Fellowship Fund

The University of New Hampshire Graduate Fellowship Fund was established in 1999 by John M. and Patricia Gibson Baker to provide support for graduate fellowships for the purpose of recruiting and retaining outstanding graduate students at UNH.

Henry Wilson Grange, Charles and Elizabeth Webster Scholarship Fund

The Henry Wilson Grange, Charles and Elizabeth Webster Scholarship Fund was established in 1998 by Elizabeth D. Webster to provide scholarship aid to graduating seniors from Farmington, New Hampshire, High School who are attending the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture.

The Granite State Roost Educational Foundation Scholarship provides financial assistance to students in the engineering and science disciplines, including electrical and mechanical engineering, physics, computer science, and mathematics, who are likely to pursue careers in electronic defense and related professions.

Clarence L. and Helen M. Garland Grant Fellowship Fund

Established in 2000 through the generosity of Dr. Clarence L. "Tiny" Grant, Class of 1951, and Helen M. Garland Grant as an expression of appreciation for the many opportunities provided through their association with UNH, coupled with their belief in the great value of graduate work in Chemistry at UNH, the Clarence L. and Helen M. Garland Grant Fellowship Fund provides summer research fellowships for outstanding graduate students in Chemistry.

Gunst/Wilcox Fund for Graduate History Programs

The Gunst/Wilcox Fund for Graduate History Programs was established in 1998 by Richard J. Gunst to provide direct grants to graduate students in the Department of History to enable them to undertake or participate in academic projects and programs that would not otherwise be possible. Additionally, the fund provides financial support to meet other expenses for the benefit and improvement of graduate programs in the Department of History.

Clarence E. Gustafson Fellowship

The Clarence E. Gustafson Fellowship provides fellowship support in the Center for the Humanities. The Gustafson Fellowship can be awarded annually to faculty members, with funds used to pay for replacement faculty, freeing the fellows from all, or a portion, of their teaching responsibilities and providing a valuable opportunity to do research.

Established in memory of UNH President Gordon A. Haaland's father, the Ole E. Haaland Endowment Fund in Education provides research grants to faculty-student teams who are investigating a problem relating to public education.

John N. Haines Scholarship Fund

The John N. Haines Scholarship Fund was established by John N. Haines to provide scholarship support to a deserving student, with preference given to students from Somersworth, New Hampshire.

Fred W. Hall Jr. and Jane Coe Hall Dean's Scholarship Fund

Established in 1999 by Fred W. Hall Jr. '41, and Jane Coe Hall '39, the Fred W. Hall Jr. and Jane Coe Hall Dean's Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts who exhibit academic merit.

Hamel Center for Undergraduate Research

The Hamel Center for Undergraduate Research was established by Dana A. and Kathryn P. Hamel to provide an ongoing source of funding for the International Research Opportunities Program, the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program, the Research Scholars Program, and other outreach and engagement initiatives in support of undergraduate research at UNH.

Ann Weaver Hart Fund for International Study

The Ann Weaver Hart Fund for International Study was established in 2006 in honor of Ann Weaver Hart, the 18th president of the University of New Hampshire, through the generosity of current and former UNH Foundation Board members and staff, as well as her colleagues at UNH.  The fund provides financial assistance to undergraduate students who participate in an international study experience through the Center for International Education.

John Henry Hanhisalo Fund

The John Henry Hanhisalo Music Scholarship provides renewable awards to undergraduate and graduate students majoring in music who demonstrate the potential for originality and integrity of music. The Bernice Gray Hanhisalo Art Scholarship provides renewable awards to undergraduate and graduate students majoring in studio art and fine art. The Hanhisalo Contemporary Music Performance Fund provides support for the performances of contemporary music to benefit the University community.

Charles Hanna Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Charles Hanna Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1976 by Charles R. Hanna '31 to provide a scholarship each year to a student in good academic standing who is engaged in an intercollegiate sport and demonstrates financial need.

Hannaford Brothers Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 1982 by the Hannaford Bros. Co., the Hannaford Brothers Endowed Scholarship Fund provides financial support to a junior or senior enrolled in the Whittemore School of Business and Economics in recognition of their academic achievement.

Arnold P. and Della A. Hanson Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Arnold P. and Della A. Hanson Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2000 by Arnold P. Hanson '48 and Della A. Hanson to provide four-year scholarships covering the full cost of attendance to career-oriented students from Coos County, New Hampshire, based on financial need, academic merit, and potential for future achievement.

Donald F. Harley Scholarship Fund

The Donald F. Harley Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 by family and friends of Donald F. Harley to provide scholarship support to UNH sophomore or junior student leaders who belong to one of the student activity fee organizations. Recipients must have participated in an organization for at least six months, and must demonstrate strong leadership qualities and academic excellence, as demonstrated by a grade point average of 2.5 or better at the time of nomination.

Hollis E. and Elizabeth Hewlett Harrington Endowed Fund

Established with gifts from Hollis E. and Elizabeth Hewlett Harrington, the Hollis E. and Elizabeth Hewlett Harrington Endowed Fund provides an ongoing source of flexible income to the Whittemore School of Business and Economics to be used where it will have greatest positive impact on students and faculty.

Karen L. Harrower Undergraduate Research Fund

The Karen L. Harrower Undergraduate Research Fund was established in 2000 by Karen L. Harrower '72 to provide research grants to undergraduate students in the Department of Earth Sciences.

Robert T. Hart Fund

The Robert T. Hart Fund provides scholarship support to deserving juniors or seniors majoring in chemistry.

Lloyd W. Hawkensen Forestry Scholarship Fund

The Lloyd W. Hawkensen Forestry Scholarship Fund was established in 1987 in memory of Lloyd Hawkensen. The fund provides financial assistance to full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled in a program administered by the Department of Forest Resources concerning forestry, wildlife, forest soils, and/or conservation.

Willis D. F. Hayden Scholarship Fund

Established in 1952 by Grace T. Hayden in memory of her husband, Willis D.F. Hayden '99, the Willis D. F. Hayden Scholarship Fund provides one annual scholarship award, with preference given to a resident of Hollis, New Hampshire.

Helen E. Hayes Scholarship Fund

Established by Helen E. Hayes, the Helen E. Hayes Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to deserving students with demonstrated financial need.

James "Red" Hayes Memorial Scholarship Fund

The James H. "Red" Hayes Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by New Hampshire Distributors, Inc., friends, and family of James H. "Red" Hayes. The fund provides an annual scholarship to a UNH athlete participating in the football program. Preference is given to New Hampshire residents.

James H. Hayes and Claire Short Hayes Professorship

The James H. Hayes and Claire Short Hayes Professorship was established with a gift from James H. Hayes '32 and Claire Short Hayes '34 to support an endowed faculty chair at UNH within the University's Center for the Humanities.

Daniel M. Heath Memorial Scholarship

The Daniel M. Heath Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1971 by Mr. and Mrs. Alfred M. Heath and friends of their son Daniel, who was a senior microbiology major at the time of his death in 1971. The fund provides scholarship support to microbiology majors based on financial need and academic merit.

Calvin A. and Kathryn E. Heath "Grumblenot" Scholarship Fund

The Calvin A. and Kathryn E. Heath "Grumblenot" Scholarship Fund was established in 2002 by family and friends of Colonel Calvin Aldrich Heath '40 and his wife Kathryn Elizabeth (Stouffer) Heath to provide scholarship support for students from Grafton County, New Hampshire, who demonstrate academic merit and financial need.

Helen Thompson Heath Endowed Fund

The Helen Thompson Heath Endowed Fund was established by Helen Thompson Heath to provide financial support to sponsor events or to support programs in honor and memory of Benjamin Thompson, founder of the University.

Maynard and Audrey Heckel Extension Educator Fellowship

The Maynard and Audrey Heckel Extension Educator Fellowship was established in 2001 by Maynard C. Heckel, director emeritus of UNH Cooperative Extension and professor emeritus of adult education, and his wife, Audrey E. Heckel, to recognize cooperative extension educators for exemplary program accomplishments.

Olivette Dussault Hemon Scholarship

Established in 1999 by Olivette D. Hemon, the Olivette Dussault Hemon Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to a deserving female mechanical engineering student with demonstrated financial need.

Oren V. "Dad" Henderson Memorial Scholarship Fund

Alumni and friends of Oren V. "Dad" Henderson, who served UNH and the state from 1941 to 1951, established the Oren V. "Dad" Henderson Memorial Scholarship Fund. The annual income is used for scholarship purposes.

William G. Hennessy Scholarship Fund

Established in 1963 in honor of Professor Emeritus William G. Hennessy, the William G. Hennessy Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to students interested in drama who exhibit talent, academic achievement, and financial need.

J. Raymond Hepler Endowed Fund

The J. Raymond Hepler Endowed Fund was established in 1995 in memory of UNH professor of horticulture, J.R. Hepler by his daughter, Helen Hepler Clapp '39 to provide financial support for undergraduate research opportunities for students enrolled in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture.

Jonathan W. Herndon Fund

The Jonathan W. Herndon Fund was established by Jonathon W. Herndon '92 to provide financial support to graduate students enrolled in the Department of Earth Sciences who demonstrate financial need and the promise of successful completion of the masters program.

Carl W. Hess Memorial Fund

Established in 1998 by an anonymous donor, the Carl W. Hess Memorial Fund provides unrestricted support to New Hampshire 4-H programs.

Kenneth J. Higson Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Kenneth J. Higson Endowed Scholarship was established by Kenneth J. Higson '48 to provide scholarships to undergraduate students majoring in mechanical engineering who demonstrate academic promise or performance.

Gordon K. Hill Endowment

Established in 1998 by Gordon K. Hill '34, the Gordon K. Hill Endowment provides on-going flexible support for the Women's Department of Athletics at UNH.

Bernice M. Hill Class of 1923 Fund

Established by Bernice M. Hill '23, the Bernice M. Hill Class of 1923 Fund provides a consistent source of discretionary funds for the Women's Athletics Department.

Joyce V. Hiller Kinesiology Scholarship Fund

The Joyce V. Hiller Scholarship Fund was established in 1998 by Joyce V. Hiller '54 to provide scholarship support for students enrolled in a kinesiology-related major who exhibit academic merit, with preference given to a junior with an interest in service to youth.

The Joyce V. Hiller Athletic Scholarship Fund was established in 1998 by Joyce V. Hiller '54 to provide scholarship support for women athletes at UNH, with a preference given to members of the women's field hockey team who exhibit athletic ability and academic merit.

Bill Hinman Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 2001 by George W. "Bill" Hinman Jr. the Bill Hinman Endowed Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support for UNH students participating on the men's hockey team, allowing the University to recruit and retain the best student athletes.

Edgar C. Hirst Scholarship Fund

The Edgar C. Hirst Scholarship Fund was established by the Concord National Bank Foundation to honor Edgar C. Hirst, former bank president. The fund provides grants to residents of Merrimack County, New Hampshire, who study money and banking, business administration, or economics in the Whittemore School of Business and Economics.

Paul W. and Dorothy T. Hobbs Endowment for Faculty Development

The Paul W. and Dorothy T. Hobbs Endowment for Faculty Development was established in 1994 by Paul W. and Dorothy T. Hobbs to provide resources to benefit faculty development initiatives at UNH at the discretion of the University president.

Dorothy Tarr Hobbs Endowed Fund for Academic Support

The Dorothy Tarr Hobbs Endowed Fund for Academic Support was established in 1999 in memory of Dorothy Tarr Hobbs by her husband, Paul W. Hobbs '29 to provide financial support for academic tutoring and counseling for student athletes at UNH.

1998-1999 Men's Hockey Champions Endowed Scholarship Fund

The 1998-1999 Men's Hockey Champions Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 by an anonymous donor and UNH hockey fans in recognition of the 1998-1999 Men's Ice Hockey NCAA Finalists Team. The fund provides annual scholarship support for UNH men's ice hockey players in good academic standing.

Albion Reed Hodgdon Memorial Fund

The Albion Reed Hodgdon Memorial Fund was established in 1977 by friends, family, former students, and associates in memory of Albion R. Hodgdon, professor of botany, to provide support for the Albion R. Hodgdon Herbarium.

Hoffenberg Endowed Fund for Liberal Arts

Established in 2005 by David Hoffenberg '81 and the Sidney Stern Memorial Trust, the Hoffenberg Endowed Fund for Liberal Arts provides discretionary support for the dean of the College of Liberal Arts for faculty research, scholarship awards, and other priorities.

Louis B. Hoffman Fund

The Louis B. Hoffman Fund was established in 1992 by Louis B. Hoffman '19 to provide unrestricted funds for use at the discretion of the University president.

Larry Hogan Scholarship Fund

The Larry Hogan Scholarship Fund was established by the Coleman F. Hogan and Margaret M. Hogan Foundation in memory of their son, Larry Hogan, who was killed in Vietnam in 1971. The fund provides scholarship assistance to qualified UNH students from Southeastern New Hampshire with demonstrated financial need.

Harold A. Holbrook Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established in 1973 by the Board of Directors of the Strafford National Bank in memory of Harold A. Holbrook, former president and chairman of the board, the Harold A. Holbrook Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to entering seniors in the Whittemore School of Business and Economics, with preference given to those interested in banking. Recipients must have been residents of Strafford County, New Hampshire, at the time of admission to UNH.

John T. Holden Memorial Fund

The John T. Holden Memorial Fund was established in 2000 by family and friends in memory of Dr. John T. Holden, professor emeritus of political science at UNH. The fund brings academics, journalists, and writers concerned with American political life, such as international relations, economics, sociology, history, and politics, to speak at the UNH campus.

John S. Holland Memorial Scholarship Fund

Family and friends established the John S. Holland Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of John S. Holland to provide scholarships to students enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts majoring in history or political science, who have maintained a grade point average of at least 2.5 and demonstrated financial need.

Paul J. Holloway Jr. Endowed Fund

The Paul J. Holloway Jr. Endowed Fund was established in 1988 by family and friends of Paul J. Holloway Jr. upon his retirement from the USNH board of trustees to recognize and reward the entrepreneurial spirit. Income from the fund is used to provide annual prizes to Whittemore School of Business and Economics students/teams who submit the most feasible plan during the Holloway Business Plan Competition.

Endowed Fund for Holocaust Education

The Endowed Fund for Holocaust Education was established in 2002 by Robert and Cindy Chaikin, David M. Schwartz, Esq., and Leslie S. Schwartz to honor Hans Heilbronner and Jeffry Diefendorf who educate students and the wider community about the Nazi Holocaust.

The Endowed Fund for Holocaust Education was established in 2002 by alumni and friends of the University to provide funds to support initiatives related to educating students, as well as the wider community, about the Nazi Holocaust.

Honors Program/UROP Endowed Fund

The Honors Program/UROP Endowed Fund was established by alumni and friends of the University and a matching grant from the Cogswell Benevolent Trust to provide funding to support faculty who teach honors courses, provide awards to recruit and retain high-quality students, provide undergraduate research fellowships and awards, and fund one or more Honors Program professorships.

Hood Achievement Prize

Established in 1930 with a gift of Charles H. Hood 1880, the Hood Achievement Prize is used for the encouragement, aid, and benefit of deserving students.

Beverly Lessard Hoover Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 2000 by Beverly Lessard Hoover '51, the Beverly Lessard Hoover Endowed Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support for full-time upperclassmen who are residents of New Hampshire, with a preference to students from Jaffrey, New Hampshire, who exhibit financial need.

The Charles A. Hopkins Family Fund was established by Beatrice B. Hopkins in memory of her husband and family to provide financial assistance to any worthy student, with particular consideration given to the children of non-faculty/staff members.

Established by Michael J. Hourihan, the Michael J. and Nellie M. Hourihan Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support for deserving and meritorious students selected without regard to race, color, or creed from Newport High School, New Hampshire.

Robert E. Houston Jr. Physics Award/Barbara G. Houston Math Education Award

The Robert E. Houston Jr. Family Fund was established in 1993 by Robert E. Houston Jr. professor emeritus of Physics, and Barbara G. Houston, former mathematics instructor. The Barbara G. Houston Math Education Award is presented to the junior mathematics major who best exemplifies interest, enthusiasm and potential in the discipline of mathematics education. The Robert E. Houston Jr. Physics Award is presented to the junior major who best exemplifies interest, enthusiasm and potential in the discipline of physics. For both awards, preference is given to New Hampshire students.

Robert E. Houston Sr. Fund

Established in 1994 by Robert E. Houston Sr. the Robert E. Houston Sr. Fund provides awards to members of the UNH gymnastics team who achieve a score of 9.5 in gymnastic events during one academic year.

Cleveland L. Howard Jr. Choral Music Fund

The Cleveland L. Howard Jr. Choral Music Fund was established in 2001 by family and friends of Cleveland L. Howard Jr. who served as professor of music for thirty years. The fund provides financial support for concert choir programs at the University.

Fred G. and Gertrude A. Howell Student Fund

The Fred G. and Gertrude A. Howell Student Fund was established in 1997 by Fred G. and Gertrude Howell to provide support in the form of scholarships, books, conferences, and equipment for students enrolled in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences.

Simes T. Hoyt Fund

The Simes T. Hoyt Fund was established in 1976 to provide unrestricted funds for use at the discretion of the University president.

Austin I. and Winona V. Hubbard Scholarship Fund

The Austin I. and Winona V. Hubbard Scholarship Fund was established by Austin I. Hubbard to provide scholarship assistance to University students who demonstrate financial need.

Hubbard Brothers Endowed Chair in the Biological Sciences

Oliver J. Hubbard '21, Austin I. Hubbard '25, and Leslie S. Hubbard '27, established the Hubbard Brothers Endowed Chair in the Biological Sciences in 1987 to provide faculty and research support for the professor serving in the capacity of the Hubbard Brothers Endowed Chair in the Biological Sciences.

Hubbard Farms Endowed Graduate Fellowship

The Hubbard Farms Graduate Fellowship was established in 1951 by the Hubbard family. The fund provides financial assistance to graduate students in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture who are conducting research in poultry science.

Iola Hubbard Climate Change Endowment

The Iola Hubbard Climate Change Endowment was established in 2000 by Leslie S. Hubbard '27 in honor of his wife, Iola M. Hubbard. The fund provides financial support for Climate Change Research Center within the University's Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans, and Space.

Leslie S. Hubbard Marine Program Endowment

Established in 1996 by Leslie S. and Iola Hubbard, the Leslie S. Hubbard Marine Program Endowment provides a financial resource to stimulate basic research efforts in marine education programs and to support activities that attract other sources of funding that will result in long-term support of academic programs of excellence at UNH.

Norman Hubbard Scholarship Fund

The Norman Hubbard Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to students majoring in animal science.

Oliver J. Hubbard Fund for Sustainable Living Education

The Oliver J. Hubbard Fund for Sustainable Living Education was established in 1995 by Oliver Hubbard '21 to support the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture's integrated, multidisciplinary academic program that teaches sustainable living concepts based on sound science and recognizing the connection between human beings, their communities, and their natural world.

The Oliver J. Hubbard Fund for the Biological Sciences was established in 1999 by Oliver J. Hubbard '21 to provide support for the advancement of education and research in the biological sciences, including curriculum development, faculty and technical support positions, new laboratory equipment, and other items necessary to build and maintain activity in the biological sciences.

Cyril Thomas Hunt Memorial Scholarship Fund

In 1928, the Class of 1926 established the Cyril Thomas Hunt Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of Cyril Thomas Hunt '19 to provide support for New Hampshire students with financial need.

Bertram Husch International Scholarship Fund

The Bertram Husch International Scholarship Fund was established in 2000 by Phurpa (Phil) G. Ladenla '59 and Sophie C. Ladenla in honor of former Associate Professor of Forestry Bertram Husch. The fund provides scholarship assistance to international students attending UNH who demonstrate financial need.

Hutchins Family Fund

The Hutchins Family Fund was established by Laura Jenness and Christopher Hutchins '84, in memory of their daughter, Jacqueline Patricia. The Hutchins Family Fund provides an annual scholarship to an enrolling freshman student from the Londonderry, New Hampshire, High School who has chosen to attend UNH in Durham and who exhibits scholastic merit. Preference is given to female students with financial need.

Harold A. Iddles Lecture Fund

The Harold A. Iddles Lecture Fund provides financial support for the Department of Chemistry to bring one or more distinguished lecturers to campus each year. Additionally, funds can be used to support graduate students or to purchase books for the chemistry library.

Alvin R. Ingram Graduate Fellowship Fund

Established by the Atlantic Richfield Company and Alvin R. Ingram, the Alvin R. Ingram Graduate Fellowship supports a graduate student in the chemistry department who demonstrates academic performance and research ability, with preference given to Ph.D. candidates.

International 4-H Youth Exchange Fund

The International 4-H Youth Exchange Fund was established by the New Hampshire International 4-H Youth Exchange Committee in memory of Ernest A. George '51 and in tribute to the thousands of volunteers who have helped further 4-H international opportunities for New Hampshire residents. The fund provides financial support for New Hampshire young adults to participate in the Cooperative Extension-sponsored International 4-H Youth Exchange Program.

Endowment for International Studies

The Endowment for International Studies was established in 2001 by Craig W. Abbott '70 to provide financial assistance to UNH undergraduate students participating in University-approved or University-managed study-abroad programs or the International Research Opportunities Program. Preference is given to students studying languages, commerce, financial services, technology, international relations, marine or space sciences.

John C. Irving Memorial Scholarship

The John C. Irving Memorial Scholarship provides scholarship support to a graduate of Manchester, New Hampshire, Central High School, who was active in track and/or cross country during high school, with preference given to entering freshman.

Kenneth L. Isaacs Scholarship Fund

Established in 1961 by Kenneth L. Isaacs, the Kenneth L. Isaacs Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to students interested in animal sciences, particularly livestock, and who exhibit scholarship and have demonstrated financial need.

Established in 1973 by former UNH President Thomas N. Bonner in memory of Miriam Jackson, the Miriam Jackson Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to second-year students in the Thompson School of Applied Science who demonstrate financial need and have an academic commitment to ecology and environmental studies.

Professor and Mrs. C. Floyd Jackson Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Professor and Mrs. C. Floyd Jackson Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in honor of the UNH marine laboratory on Appledore Island with gifts from the alumni of the UNH marine zoological laboratory and alumni of the honorary zoological fraternity, Phi Sigma. The fund provides scholarships to UNH students or New Hampshire residents enrolled in the Shoals Marine Laboratory Program.

Martha L. Foley '76 '96G and William S. Jackson '75 Fund for International Studies

The Martha L. Foley '76 '96G and William S. Jackson '75 Fund for International Studies was established in 2004 by Martha Foley Jackson and William S. Jackson to encourage UNH students from New Hampshire to study abroad. The fund provides financial assistance to allow undergraduate students who are New Hampshire residents and have demonstrated financial need to participate in an international study experience through the Center for International Education or a similar successor program.

Marion James Faculty Development Fund

The Marion James Faculty Development Fund was established by alumni, friends, faculty, and staff in honor of Marion James who taught history at UNH for 30 years. The fund provides support for the faculty of the College of Liberal.

Evelyn Nixon Jardine Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Evelyn Nixon Jardine Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 1957 by the New Hampshire Society of Medical Technologists and was endowed in 1996 by Lorraine Lowell, following the death of Mrs. Jardine. The fund provides an annual scholarship to a junior or senior studying medical laboratory science who exhibits academic merit and financial need.

New Hampshire Library of Traditional Jazz

Established by Dorothy C. Prescott, the New Hampshire Library of Traditional Jazz fund provides financial support to preserve the history and foster the continuance and appreciation of traditional jazz music as an art form by promoting, producing, and sponsoring live and recorded programs and concerts, and lectures and teaching programs.

Lillian M. Johnson Fund

The Lillian M. Johnson Fund was established in 1970 by Lillian M. Johnson in honor of her sister, Mary Joy, whose children a
