Estate gifts to UNH may include a bequest of cash or gifts of real estate, personal property, or insurance. Life income plans such as a charitable gift annuity are also a popular option. Alumni and friends who make plans to support the University through wills, trusts, life income funds, real estate, retirement plans, and life insurance gifts are recognized with membership in the Heritage Society, named in honor of Benjamin Thompson, whose bequest established the University's beginning in Durham more than 100 years ago.
